In the consultation we will look at what brings you to counselling/ therapy and what you would like to achieve. I will ask you some information about you and explain the way I work. This session is an opportunity for us to find out if we can work together; whether you would like to work with me and whether I am the right person to work with you.
In case of child counselling, the child is the client, who also has the right to decide whether they would like to work with me. Ideally two consultation sessions are attended before therapeutic work is agreed. The first consultation is for the parent and therapist only to discuss reasons for seeking therapy and to gain some information about the child. The second consultation is for the parent, child and therapist. If we agree to work together, we will look at a regular day and time for your child’s counselling/ therapy sessions.
